SUMMARY OF THE PAUL HARRIS SERVICE FELLOWSHIP
2
Key Purpose of Program To cultivate, reinforce and promote a culture of volunteerism and service through a program of recognition. We reward what we value. The PHSF program rewards, by recognition, those individuals (including non-Rotarians) who provide volunteer service to others. The PHSF program is meant to reinforce our values and our motto of – “SERVICE ABOVE SELF.”
3
Description of Program Paul Harris Fellowship financial contribution service contribution Akin to our Paul Harris Fellowship program of recognition of financial contribution to the Rotary Foundation, individuals and clubs are recognized by their accumulated hours of service contribution. Each Individual Volunteer’s service time is documented on a Rotary Club’s Service Log Book monthly or periodically. Both individuals and clubs are recognized for their aggregate service time contributions.

Procedure & Implementation: Each participating member maintains a record of his / her service hours and reports the total hours monthly. Thanks for participating. Final Comments: This is a pioneer program in our district and we appreciate your forbearance and cooperation. We ask that each club observes the guidelines, but feels free to modify them to what works best and correlates with the club’s consensus. Each club will share their positive and negative experiences at the Mid-Terms and we hope to derive further and modified standard guidelines at that time, based on our joint experiences. If there are questions, or a need for further clarification, please contact: Wade Nomura– Chair of D-5240 Volunteer Committee wnomura@verizon.net / 805-448-9912
