Middle School Field Experiences MED 309: Teaching Mathematics in the Middle School Preservice 7-12 math teachers 12 hours of tutoring in grades 5 & 6 Preservice Elementary (1 - 6) teachers completing a 5 - 9 math extension 12 hours of tutoring in grades 7 - 9

Middle School Field Experiences Math Property-Opoly Day A volunteer service learning partnership with Amherst Middle School A first ring suburban district The partnership originated when a 6 th grade teacher called the college to share his idea for Property-Opoly Day

5th Annual TEAM Math Conference September 5, 2008 Middle School Field Experiences Property-Opoly Day 6th grade students have 6 full periods of math for one day Each class features instruction and exploration of one or more math properties on the NYS 6th grade assessment Lesson plans featuring manipulatives developed and taught by Buffalo State students

5th Annual TEAM Math Conference September 5, 2008 High School Experiences Faculty met with principal and teachers Designed two courses Algebra 1 with Math A emphasis Geometry with Math A emphasis College student teams taught 13 weeks Each team consisted of MW & TR Assessments on Fridays
