2 Introduction The University of Texas Archives preserves and makes available for research the noncurrent, historically valuable, official records of The University of Texas at Austin and The University of Texas System administration; the personal and professional papers of significant university administrators, faculty, and staff; and any other materials that substantively document the history and development of the institution.

10 What Does the Archives Accept?  Materials identified through the university records management program  What are we looking for?  Documentation of university operations, policies, and decisions  Significant correspondence  Annual reports  Organizational information  Student life information  History files  Committee files  Subject files  Grant files  Publications  Photographs  Audio, video, film  Electronic records

11 Transferring University Records to The University of Texas Archives  Archival transfers and review are initiated by submitting a Request to Dispose of Records Form to Records Management Services.  Indicate any record series that requires archival transfer or review.  Indicate any record series that appears to be historically significant.  Records Management Services contacts the department and the university archivist to facilitate archival review or transfer process.
