And this is a great opportunity to start a dialog with your local fire department about propane and how to handle a propane emergency. Propane Emergencies is a program that began in 1998 as PERCs first project. It was very important to educate first responders, so the first edition textbook was sent out to every fire department, for free, but unfortunately every department did not use it. Today’s program has evolved and now includes a textbook, facilitator guide, a toolkit and interactive scenarios. Today we’ll talk about the different tools available to use, and what other states are doing with the PE program.
