1 “And he said, Behold now, I am old, I know not the day of my death.” - Gen. 27:2

2 “ And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:” Heb. 9:27 We can learn from the death of Jesus

3 I. He knew death was certain Heb. 2:14 “...through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is the devil.” Did not avoid discussing death Matt. 20:18-19Jn.12:32-33

4 I. He knew death was certain We know that death is certain Do not try to ignore it No man is ready to die until he has learned how to LIVE !

5 II. Jesus was In Constant fellowship with God It was natural for him to turn to God in death- Luke 23:46 “For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.” II Tim. 4:6 Some are terrified when death approaches !!!

6 II. Jesus was In Constant fellowship with God To die in peace and unafraid, we must keep in close fellowship with God. Don’t wait until the moment of death and frantically seek Him.

8 III. Preparation – Be found Doing God’s Will “ Did you not know that I must be about my Father’s business.” Luke 2:49  Are we doing God’s will ?  Putting the kingdom first !

10 IV. Died with words of Scripture on His Lips Luke 23:46 “Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit” ~ Ps.31:5  He knew the scriptures  They had been his guide  He knew he could trust them

11 IV. Died with words of Scripture on His Lips Many are scared to die. They do not trust the scriptures in death because they never trusted or tried them in life.

12 V. Died without hatred or resentment toward anyone Scourged, mocked, betrayed "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.“ Lk.23:34 To die without hatred we must live without it.

13 VI. Thought of others even in death Mother - John 19:25-27 Thief - Luke 23:43 Those who killed him – Lk.23:34 Think of others even in death

14 “Will I die?” Not But “Am I prepared to die.” Death is not The End Resurrection

15 28.Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, 29. And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

16 Are you living for Christ ?  Obey the Gospel  Live faithfully
