7 recommendations  It is important to take on leadership roles relative to education  Your resume should look good but not too flashy. We want to know about employers, and relative education.  What experience do you have that is relevant

8 Recommendations Continued REVISE---- Revise Revise Cover letters are also important. Attend Job Fairs

9 Interview Recommendations Prepare for Interviews and Show a good knowledge base along with a personal connection Be enthusiastic and/or Passionate Looking for people skills and a willingness to work with other Knowledge of Effective Teaching Practices

10 Interviews Continued  Research the district and/or school where you are applying for a position  Why do you want to work their?  Be respectful  Dress in Professional Attire  Have a resume ready- folders and other supporting documents are good. Not too much though

11 What not to do?  Make demands at interviews  Look unorganized  Come unprepared  Inappropriate Dress  Making mistakes on resumes  Having resumes too brief  Stating too many personal reasons as to why one would not be prepared

12 Other Tips  Interview Practice is important  Try to you enter a certified area where there is a demand  Ex. Elementary, early childhood, mathematics, science, Special Education, etc.  Be prepared for the MTTC Test.  Research the district where you want to work.  Sub and Get some experience and exposure
