2 Dixonville Cemetery History  Prominent anchor of East End and Dixonville neighborhoods  Closely associated with Lincoln School  Urban renewal 1960s  Cemetery and school are some of the few vestiges of the neighborhood history Gray’s Map of Salisbury, 1882

3 Dixonville Cemetery History  Deeded to City in 1874  Over 450 interments recorded since 1910  Oldest headstone 1851  Cemetery closed 1960s  Relatively few headstones remaining  Cemetery Div. maintains grounds

4 Dixonville Cemetery Committee  Extensive research - Betty Dan Spencer  Volunteer committee formed - 2006  Goals & Objectives developed  Headstones repaired and leveled  Initial work $10,000 CDBG  Granite retaining walls installed  2009 Arbor Day tree planting  New roadside marker  Dedication May 30, 2009
