2.  Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet program  It is used to store, organize, and manipulate data  Microsoft Excel’s layout is a rectangular grid (as shown in the image)  Microsoft Excel begins with 3 worksheets – these worksheets can each store a rectangular grid of data – extra sheets can be added (sheets shown in the image)

4.  Microsoft Excel has a toolbar also known as a “ribbon” which has different tabs.  These tabs have different tools available.  The tabs are: ◦ Home ◦ Insert ◦ Page Layout ◦ Formulas ◦ Data ◦ Review ◦ View

8. Creating formulas in Excel may be confusing when beginning. This section will give you the basics in using formulas to add and subtract.

9.  Creating a chart is simple once you get to know it.  It is a nice way to represent your data visually.  The first step to creating your chart is to ensure you have the data set in the correct way.  The image to the right shows a basic example of this.  I have 2 headings, Item and Price. I then have a list of 4 items and 4 prices.  I then select all that data by dragging the left mouse button (as mentioned in the first video).  And then I go to Insert -> Column (depending on what chart style you want) and then I chose a 2-D Column.
