2. Genre: tall tale A tall tale is a story about exaggerated events. So, through a story you will find: 1- exaggerated about the strength and abilities of a character. 2- legends about American Folk heroes.

3. Skill: Through the story, I want you to detect the cause and effect.

4. Vocabulary: Reputation – yearning – escapades – bellowing – betrayed – outcast – withered – unfathomable

5. Read from p. 334- 337 1- Is there a real giant baby that is eighteen feet? 2- can a real baby drink barrels of milk? So, as you see here, the events are exaggerated and also can hardly happen. 3- do you think that stormy likes the sea because he was found near the sea?

6. From p.338 – 341: 1- Is there a real two ton octopus? 2- Can you fight an octopus? 3- Can you tie an octopus hands into double knots? 4- What would you feel if your friend betrayed you? 5- What is Stormy’s feelings when he quitted the sea life?

7. From p.342- 347: 1- “ His face was like a withered cornstalk”, Does this show that he was happy? Why? 2- Explain Stormy’s feelings after he returned back to sea life. 3- Do you think a giant ship can pass through this channel using soup?
