Weekly Objectives Students will understand and appreciate an epic poem. Students will determine the meaning of unknown words by using context clues. Students will understand an epic poem. Students will utilize various reading strategies to monitor comprehension. Students will demonstrate mastery of literary terms, mystery unit, word knowledge, and English conventions of grammar by taking a comprehensive assessment. The students will write for a variety of purposes and audiences using the Standard English conventions of grammar, spelling, capitalization, and punctuation.
