2010 Highlights Sample Projects space science investigations using the web, computer simulations and satellite imagery (6-8) art appreciation and projects infused with technology components including digital storytelling, wikis, online student galleries, webcams, greenscreens, more… (3-5) use of physics and engineering to create new toys plus testing and marketing (9- 12) use of flip video, Photo Story and a blog to explore the effects of recycling paper on landfills (3-5) simulated mission to space including working mission control and orbiter (6-8) student development of a computer simulation to engage in a study of air bags (9- 12) use of Audacity, voice thread, and green screen to explore how words inspire art (3-5) student built energy efficient house utilizing solar and geothermal technologies (9- 12) student written and produced standards-based videos on timely topics (3-5) use of voice thread, wall wisher, and skype for digital book publication for world wide distribution (K-2)

2010 Highlights and Other Winning Opportunities Press – Top 10 winners profiled by local news outlets Presence on PBS Teachers Top 50 winners and Teacher’s Choice Winner’s listed on site Top 10 winners featured in newsletter Top 10 winner Kareen Borders was also named a National Finalist for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. (June 2010) Colleen Howard and a co-worker received VIP tours of KAET and ASSET memberships and will be presenting their Space Simulation program at KAET’s October conference Colleen Howard also received invitations to participate in NASA’s Science Caravan and the NASA Education Resource Center at Embry-Riddle in Prescott, AZ
