The New GIL Web Site Overview for Editors Phil Williams GIL Support Staff @ UGA GUGM 2011 Macon State College 19 May 2011

GIL Support Services Web Site The new GIL Support Services web site offers GIL Committee Chairs the option: * To publish / edit Documents of interest for their Committee. * To publish / edit Committee meeting Minutes. * To identify Learning Objects of interest for their Committee and have them published by the web site Administrators (consistency). In order to publish and edit, the Editor must log into the GIL Support Services web site.

GIL Support Services Web Site 1. Click on the Login link - either in the Top Menu area or the Home Left Menu area to display the Member Login options. 2. Click the Editor ONLY Login link. 3. All GIL Committee Chairs will be assigned a Username and Password for publishing and editing Committee Documents and meeting Minutes.

GIL Support Services Web Site The Editor’s Login displays the authorized Control Panel with the following tabs: * Publish. Select Documents / Minutes “Publish Forms” * Edit. Search for Documents / Minutes to edit * My Account. Customize certain aspects of your Account. * Above the tab links: - GIL Support Services Home. - CP Home (Control Panel). - Log-out. - New tab – create personal links.

GIL Support Services Web Site The Publish tab offers the Editor a choice of two “Publish Forms” templates to work with – both of which have an Upload file feature: * Documents * Minutes

Click the Documents or Minutes section to open a new “Publish Form” for the item to be published. Go to the User’s Help Guide (Section 3.0 Editors) for additional information.

GIL Support Services Web Site The Edit tab offers a list of recent items that have been published. The Editor can keyword search for items based upon several criteria. The Editors can only edit items they published. Section templates display current content to work with – whether Documents or Minutes.

GIL Support Services Web Site The My Account tab offers the Editors the ability to customize certain features of their Account: - Email information. - Username and Password changes. - Add custom Quick Links. - Notepad. Review the User’s Help Guide for additional information (Section 3.0 Editors).
