University of North Carolina at Pembroke9 August 28, 2009 In Re: Recommendation for Hans Strings Dear Hiring Manager: I was initially impressed with Dr. Strings’ enthusiasm, communication skills and professional demeanor when I hired him ten years ago as a Lecturer of Education at UNC. During the two years Hans reported to me (I have since moved on to a different department), he consistently demonstrated all of these qualities and more, and I heartily endorse him for any teaching position. Hans is reliable, dedicated and eternally upbeat. His ability to calm insecure student teachers is unparalleled, and it is because of his excellence in this area that I repeatedly asked him to continue to mentor new student teachers, though he had the chance to move to another area after his initial contract period. Hans multitasks effectively and is able to handle a high-volume workload. Of particular value to me was Hans’ team player mind-set, enthusiastic embrace of change, ability to work with minimal supervision and unwavering commitment to exceeding expectations. I regularly received unsolicited praise from students, co- workers and parents. All commended Hans’ outstanding level of service, professionalism and follow-through. Organized and diligent, Hans quickly learned technology systems and software that were unfamiliar to him when he first started with us, and he also attended optional professional-development seminars offered while pursuing his PhD. Hans has my highest recommendation, and I am happy to furnish more details if you would like additional information. Sincerely, O. C. Ludwig, EDD (555) 555-5555 Sample Letter of Reference
