Does not provide best-in-class Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) SNR is directly proportional to TX voltage Synaptics S320x can only provide 3.3 V TX drive inside the chip 2. Cannot support wet-finger tracking without false touches Waterproofing is required for functionality in the presence of condensation, sweat, or rain Synaptics S320x cannot do self + mutual capacitance sensing which is required for true waterproofing 3. Low performance CPU, less Flash and RAM; limits data processing within the touch controller Touch data processing needs to be done in the host processor for optimum performance TMA46x solves these problems TMA46x has a 10 V TX drive inside the chip for best-in-application SNR TMA46x uses both self and mutual capacitance sensing methods simultaneously enabling robust performance in the presence of water TMA46x contains a 32-bit ARM M0 CPU with 64 k Flash and 8 k RAM for the highest performance Smart Phone Requires high performance in the presence of noise and water TMA46x provides a high performance touchscreen solution
