1 GHS Dual Enrollment Parent Informational Meeting

2 What is Dual Enrollment? Juniors and seniors may be enrolled in both HS and College. Credits earned at the college may count for both college credit and high school credit. Three Funding Options: Accel, Hope Grant & Move On When Ready

3 Who may participate? Admissions requirements vary Minimum requirements for University System of Georgia Institutions: 3.0 or higher, combined minimum score of 970 on SAT or ACT composite of 20

4 What Courses may I take? Registration for coursework is done at the college. The HS counselor will verify the courses are needed for HS graduation.

5 How do I apply? Please refer to the flyer for step by step instructions

6 Grades? If letter grades are given at the college the mid point grade will be assigned: A=95, B=85, C=77, D= 72 & F = 50 Valedictorian/Salutatorian – you must take 3 or more classes at GHS to be eligible. 95 is often the highest grade earned via DE. AP classes can be 110

7 Other Considerations: NOT all colleges accept DE credits Student’s responsibility - to get info. on: prom, graduation, yearbook etc. Standardized Testing required (EOC) 20% of grade HOPE – college grades earned will be calculated upon graduation, but will NOT be included in postsecondary HOPE cumulative avg.
