6 FedDev Projects for Small & Medium Enterprises Centennial College’s Applied Research and Innovation Centre (ARIC) received $525K from a FedDev initiative* to Collaborate on ten pre-commercialization projects in partnership with Ontario Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Match SMEs technology design/development needs with Centennial’s applied research expertise Accelerate innovation and improve productivity and competitiveness in Ontario SMEs. * FedDev’s Applied Research and Commercialization Initiative www.feddevontario.gc.ca/eic/site/723.nsf/eng/h_00261.html

7 FedDev Projects for SMEs FedDev projects support companies With under 1,000 employees in Canada Registered in Southern Ontario Active in any of three industry sectors Animation and gaming – Wireless technologies and mobile apps – Green energy.

8 FedDev Projects for Animation and Gaming Project proposals in “animation and gaming” include Children’s media Multi-media platforms Interactive, creative, technology and social entrepreneurs.

9 10 FedDev Projects – Valued at $75K Each Centennial contributes $50K to each project in Faculty and students to work ‘hands on’ with your team Applied research know-how for innovative solutions Labs and facilities to design, develop and test products and processes Materials and supplies Consulting and professional fees as required. Your business invests $25K in the project in Time and materials, with dedicated staff to co-perform the project (in-kind contributions) and/or cash.

10 Call for Proposals – Application Steps Start 1 Define a Collaboration Project 2.0 Submit completed Project Proposal Form obtained from ARIC 3 Assess Project Proposal 4 Complete Mutual Non-Disclosure Agreement Form obtained from ARIC 6 Submit completed Collaboration Project Agreement Form obtained from ARIC 7 Obtain sign-offs for Collaboration Project Agreement 5 Obtain approval for FedDev Environmental Questionnaire 8 Approve College funding component for project 9 Proceed to project execution Go No Go 2 Submit completed Project Proposal Form obtained from ARIC End InInI innInInI inn Investigate other options Collaboration Project Agreement contents: Terms and conditions of the project, statement of work, project funding, obligations of the College and business partner, IP management, communications and legal compliance. 11 Targets and Results Key dates March 31, 2011 Collaboration Project Agreement signed March 31, 2012 Project completed. Reporting deliverables Project tracking reports – Monthly progress reports and cost claims submitted by Centennial, including in-kind costs with your input Final report 60 days after project completion written jointly with Centennial.
