Brussels, 10-11/03/2005MAYDAY PROJECT is financed with the support of EU under the ESF 3 MAYDAY Project OBJECTIVES: 1.Introducing a system of support for the SMEs sector and its employees in the age 50+; 2.Creating for small enterprises linked to the maritime branch a laboratory for introducing modern technologies and organisational changes; 3.Counselling and training centres for employees and management personnel according to structural changes explored in the labour market and technological changes within the companies.

Brussels, 10-11/03/2005MAYDAY PROJECT is financed with the support of EU under the ESF 4 MAYDAY Project BENEFICIARIES: employees of SMEs of the naval industry and co-operating SMEs older than 50; employers and managerial staff in SMEs of the naval industry; SMEs of the naval industry forced to adjust themselves to structural changes in economy connected with UE membership and introducing new management methods or subject to changes in order to increase their competitiveness.

Brussels, 10-11/03/2005MAYDAY PROJECT is financed with the support of EU under the ESF 5 Project Initiator - ZRG GDANSK REGIONAL BOARD OF NSZZ "SOLIDARNOSC NSZZ Solidarność acts in dignity range, rights and interests labor members Association and realization of their material, social and cultural needs. NSZZ Solidarność is a member of many commissions and councils, where as a one of social partners, together with employers, self-government representative and others institutions, including non-governmental organization takes part in solving problems in labor market, employment promotion and fights against unemployment. It cooperates with scientific institutions and academies.

Brussels, 10-11/03/2005MAYDAY PROJECT is financed with the support of EU under the ESF 6 Project Initiator - ZRG GDANSK REGIONAL BOARD OF NSZZ "SOLIDARNOSC aims at: –Improvement of job conditions and wages; –Betterment of qualifications and education; –Equilibrium of chance and faith against social exclusion. Regional Board of Gdańsk has a net of branch offices with their own organizational structure.

Brussels, 10-11/03/2005MAYDAY PROJECT is financed with the support of EU under the ESF 7 Project Partners - GUT Gdansk University of Technology is the oldest and the biggest scientific and technological academic institution in Pomeranian region, employing 2 500 staff including 1200 academics. The number of students is nearly 20 000, most of them studying full-time.

8. Brussels, 10-11/03/2005MAYDAY PROJECT is financed with the support of EU under the ESF 8 Project Partners - GUT There are 9 faculties covering almost all fields of science and technology. GUT provides broad-based education and research within engineering science, natural science and architecture. Education and cooperation with the industry are an increasingly important part of GUTs existence and have now become a life-long process.

Brussels, 10-11/03/2005MAYDAY PROJECT is financed with the support of EU under the ESF 9 Project Partners - CTO CTO – Ship Design and Research Centre S.A. is a specialist R&D, design and general technology unit, operating for the maritime industry benefit in particular. The essential mission of CTO S.A. is to initiate and to support the shipbuilding industry by the research-development, design and information activities both in the ship design and ship building process.

10. Brussels, 10-11/03/2005MAYDAY PROJECT is financed with the support of EU under the ESF 10 Project Partners - CTO The intellectual, research and design resources of CTO S.A. are also employed for the other branches of economy, for the shipping in particular.

Brussels, 10-11/03/2005MAYDAY PROJECT is financed with the support of EU under the ESF 11 Project Partners - PIPH Pomeranian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is an organisation of economic self-government and represents economic interest of 1500 enterprises of production, commerce, building and services profile.

12. Brussels, 10-11/03/2005MAYDAY PROJECT is financed with the support of EU under the ESF 12 Project Partners - PIPH PCCI co-operates with many chambers in the country and abroad i.a. Sevastopol Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Ukraine, Chamber of Commerce and Entrepreneurship in Halton (Great Britain), Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Kiel (Germany) and organisations from the business environment of the Kaliningrad Province.

13. Brussels, 10-11/03/2005MAYDAY PROJECT is financed with the support of EU under the ESF 13 Project Parters - WUP Provincial Labour Office in Gdansk is a self-government organizational unit, acting for employment promotion, professional activation and alleviating unemployment effects.

Brussels, 10-11/03/2005MAYDAY PROJECT is financed with the support of EU under the ESF 14 Project Parters - WUP It co-operates with local government units, the Governor, employment councils, organizations of employers, employers, trade unions, nongovernmental organizations, national and international institutions which take up employment problems of employment and unemployment counteracting.

Brussels, 10-11/03/2005MAYDAY PROJECT is financed with the support of EU under the ESF 15 Project Parters - GMU Gdynia Maritime University has been educating merchant navy officers and specialists of marine economy since 1920. It offers education at the following faculties: the Faculty of Business Administration, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, the Faculty of Marine Engineering, the Faculty of Navigation.

Brussels, 10-11/03/2005MAYDAY PROJECT is financed with the support of EU under the ESF 16 Project Parters - APMI Associations of Polish Maritime Industries acts in the field of: –protection of rights and representation of interest of members –creation of positive environment for development of shipbuilding and ship repairing industries as well as co-operating industries and research institutions –promotion of co-operation and exchange of services between members –participation in establishment of new legislation –representation of Polish shipbuilding industry in international organizations and associations

17. Brussels, 10-11/03/2005MAYDAY PROJECT is financed with the support of EU under the ESF 17 Project Parters - SKPO National Section of the Naval Industry is registered in Metal Secretary of NSZZ "Solidarność". It gathers 11 establishment commissions of NSZZ "Solidarność" of the naval branch and represents 7611 trade union members. Its goals are: –defense of working posts and employee's rights, –health and safety at work –active support for initiatives and activities to counteract unemployment It affilitates at European Metal Federation and International Metal Federation (EMF, IMF)

Brussels, 10-11/03/2005MAYDAY PROJECT is financed with the support of EU under the ESF 18 Transnational Partnership Transnational partnership will include the following: exchange of experiences connected with international practice and promoting life-long learning, as well as support of development of employers aged 50+ and employees in danger of losing their jobs; getting acquainted with solutions already in practice in the partner countries concerning support of innovation in SMEs, new forms of work and life-long learning in the naval industry and other sectors; developing unified training systems taking into account good practice in partner countries for employees 50+ and employers as well as management;

Brussels, 10-11/03/2005MAYDAY PROJECT is financed with the support of EU under the ESF 19 Transnational Partnership widening activities of innovation-education platform to the partner countries in order to undertake common activities e.g. marketing, SME management support, mutual leasing of employees; developing a support system connecting stability of employment of employees 50+ in SMEs with innovative development of these companies; building an open system of realisation of common undertakings, in the field of marketing, organisation etc.;

Brussels, 10-11/03/2005MAYDAY PROJECT is financed with the support of EU under the ESF 20 Transnational Partnership testing a developed lifelong learning program in Polish conditions in order to find common standards; exchange of experience between institutions involved in the Partnership; gaining experience in the field of leasing of employees from EU states; promotion of the results of the transnational partnership in EU forum; application of economical and legal solutions of EU countries (preferences for SME s, telework, etc) in order to create legal initiative and introducing good practice.
