Where it lives It lives in Central America, South America east of the Andes as far south as Uruguay and North West Argentina

Anteater, common name for any of four insect- eating mammals of Mexico, Central America, and South America, having a long head with a long, tubular mouth and long tongue, but no teeth. The giant anteater, weighing up to 39 kg (86 lb), is the largest species of anteater.

Food and hunting It eats ants, it uses its big front claws to tear open termite mounds and for defense. his sticky tongue makes the ants stick to it
