4 Common Sense Significance: 1.Appealed to the common people and suggested that anyone could understand the conflict 2.Convinced the colonists that complete separation from Britain was the only option

5 Common Sense Main Points 1.Everything suggests that it is time for separation. 2.No island should rule a continent. 3.Being a part of Britain will continue to hurt our trade with the world. 4.Distance does not allow for speedy decisions. 5.No parent holds onto children this long.

6 Common Sense Main Impact 1.500,000 sold in first year. 2.Convinced colonial legislatures to vote for independence. 3.Influenced the “normal” colonists and helped them understand what was going on.
