“ED” RULES When the base form of the verb ends with "e": just add “d“.

C) When the base form of the verb has two syllables with the stress in the second syllable and ends with consonant + vowel + consonant (CVC): double the consonant and add “ed". E.g.: Prefer Preferred Admit Admitted
