Chalk Lab Activity How does acid rain relates to a piece of chalk and vinegar? Hypothesis: If……..Then….Because…. Variables: – I.V –D.V –C.V Materials: Read through lab and list materials Procedures: –Grab two pieces of chalk (about the same size) –Use an indicator to test pH of water and vinegar (record results) –Place one piece in a beaker with 30 mL of water –Place another piece in a beaker of 30 mL of vinegar –Time and see which one breaks down the fastest (record results) –Draw Diagram aka picture Data: (Qualitative Data Quantitative Data) –Draw a picture of both beakers and describe what is happening Analysis: –How does this relate to acid rain? –Why is acid rain a problem for us and the environment?
