6 ACTION 1.2 Youth Initiatives

7 Youth Initiatives (1/3) Group of at least 4 young people aged between 18 and 30 (exception 15-17) who identify a need… Project duration from 3 months up to 18 months Based on a theme and with a well-structured programme of activities

8 Youth Initiatives (2/3) National youth initiatives – projects developed by a single group in their country of residence – Maximum grant allocation: €8,000 activity costs €1,000 (max) for DEoR + €1,000 (max) for coach Trans-national youth initiatives – projects realized in common by two or more groups from different countries – Maximum grant allocation: €10,000 for trans-national youth initiatives €1,000 (max) for DEOR + €1,000 (max) for coach Any travel costs incurred for implementation of project

9 Youth Initiatives (3/3) Example – All the Doors are Open for the Active Ones! (Latvia) to foster active citizenship among the young people in the region, to help inactive young people to develop their leadership qualities, 5 sequential seminars taking place on weekends. – Youth Bus (Lithuania) Bus public transport, painted it in graffiti style and we put inside a lot of information we considered useful for young people:. theatres, cinemas timetables, information about local and international youth organizations, etc. – Sours (France) to raise awareness for the protection of the brown bear of the Pyrenees, design educational material for children aged 6-12 years from schools in the Pyrenees area.

10 ACTION 1.3 Youth Democracy Projects

11 Youth Democracy Projects (1/3) Projects based on at least two European partnerships that allow the pooling of ideas, experiences and methodologies from projects or activities at local, regional or international level To allow the creation of new networks for the exchange, development and dissemination of good practice in the field of youth and participation

12 Youth Democracy Projects (2/3) Involving young people aged between 13 and 30 with a minimum of 16 participants – Involving two promoters per participating country – Possible participation of decision-makers and experts regardless of their age or geographical provenance The project may last from 3 to 18 months Projects get 75% funding of eligible costs but not exceeding € 50 000 Thematic concept – YiA priorities, the future of Europe or the political priorities identified in the framework of European cooperation in the youth field.

14 ACTION 4.5 Information activities for young people and those active in youth work and youth organisations

15 Information activities for young people and those active in youth work and youth organisations (1/2) Supports projects on national or EU level like: – activities which improve young people’s acces to information and communication services – activities which increase the participation of young people in the preparation and dissemination of user-friendly, targeted information products – Youth portals for the dissemination of specific information for young people Specific call of proposals

16 Information activities for young people and those active in youth work and youth organisations (2/2) Example: – EU-Too: young people “on air” Citizenship campaign using TV 10 Press conferences, 10 training workshops, 30 TV espisodes, 1 website, 1 conference, training manuals, DVD, news reports – www.youthactivism.net www.youthactivism.net Virtual information centre (portal) – Media for inclusion Training programme on media education for young people facing exclusion and their youth workers

17 ACTION 5.1 Meetings of Young People and those responsible for youth policy

18 Meetings of Young People and those responsible for youth policy (1/3) Aims to promote European cooperation by encouraging structured dialogue Supports cooperation, seminars and structured dialogue between young people, those active in youth work and youth organisations and those responsible for youth policy. NA covers to 75% of up to a maximum of €50,000 Exchange of ideas and good practice and debates on topics of European youth policy, priority themes of YiA Programme and structured dialogue

19 Meetings of Young People and those responsible for youth policy (3/3) Example: – International conference on Youth Policy 3-day conference on intercultural dialogue between generations – Meet the street II 3 day event bringing “individual young people” together with policy makers Participants make interviews Youtube channel “meet the street”

20 Meetings of Young People and those responsible for youth policy (2/3) National Youth Seminars – At least one organisation from a Programme Country – Minimum of 15 participants – Duration of project: 3 – 9 months – No specific activity duration Transnational Youth Seminars – Partners from at least five Programme Countries. – Minimum of 30 participants – Duration of project: 3 – 9 months – Duration of activity: 1 – 6 days
