1 HOW TO USE for Audio Diaries click for teacher instructions click for student instructions for smartphone instructions

2 for Teachers Navigate to SoundCloud.com and click on “Create Account”.

3 for Teachers Signing up with your email address will make it easier to use the phone app, especially if you have an iPhone. The iPhone app does not give an option to connect through Google or Facebook, so by signing up with your email, you are avoiding other hassles.

4 for Teachers After the sign-up process, or after logging in, you may see this screen. Just click the “X”.

5 for Teachers Click upload to record a test track and make a test playlist.

6 for Teachers Click on “Start new recording.” You also have the option to upload a track.

7 for Teachers Click the red “REC” button to begin recording. You will get this message about access to your microphone. Click “Allow” and “Remember”. Your browser might also show this message. Click “Allow”.

8 for Teachers Press the stop button when you are finished recording. Then, press “Upload your recording”.

9 for Teachers Enter information about your track. Usually you need to add a “tag”. I usually just write “audio”. Choose “Private” to keep your tracks out of the SoundCloud feed. Scroll down and click “Save”.

10 for Teachers After a few minutes, your track will be fully ready.

11 for Teachers Add it to a playlist.

12 for Teachers Click “Create new” Give your playlist a title and select “private”. Then click “save”. Click “Go to playlist”.

13 for Teachers This is your playlist. Your tracks are below. Students will use playlists to organize their assignments. They must share their playlist with you using the secret URL. Click the share icon.

14 for Teachers Students should copy their “private share” / secret link and email you it. This should be the only time they have to email you.

23 for iOS Students will use “AudioCopy” to record. They should then change the name of the file, choose “Private” and click on “Post to SoundCloud”.

24 for iOS In the SoundCloud app, students should see their recently uploaded track in the “Stream”. Students should click on their new track. When they open their track, they should click on the three dots …

25 for iOS Students should click on “Add to playlist”. If they already have a playlist, they can just click on the name. A green check will appear. If they do not have a playlist, they can click on the plus + and make one. They should keep the playlist private.
