1 NYS Middle Level Liaisons Network As representatives of statewide middle level education, our purpose is to advocate for middle level needs, inform SED about ML issues, and collaborate with SED on matters that impact Middle Level Education.

3 Standards Review Initiative ELA Learning Standards draft due out in late summer/early fall for feedback (standards and performance indicators) Split into two domains: Literacy – Literature Include Presenting and Viewing All other standards reviews are on hold NYS Middle Level Liaisons Network

4 P.A.L.M.S. Post Secondary Access for Latino Middle Grades Students Strengthen the ability of schools to partner with families and communities in supporting Latino students’ pursuit of education beyond high school. While the PALMS Toolkit was designed for the Latino subgroup it is applicable for any underrepresented group and any grade level. NYS Middle Level Liaisons Network

5 Social Emotional Learning DRAFT document: Guidelines and Resources for Social and Emotional Development and Learning in New York State.
