Area of Concern The subcategories that outline the contents of a Domain Contents include specific Goals, Measures, and Interventions Areas of Concern in Literacy include: – Phonemic Awareness – Phonics – Fluency – Comprehension – Vocabulary – Etc. An Intervention Plan can include multiple Areas of Concern

Goal Identifies the desired outcome for a student at the completion of the Intervention Plan Can be chosen from a bank of options, based on the Area of Concern Each Goal will need to be monitored using a specific Measure

Measure Assessment and evaluations used for progress monitoring Used to evaluate the effectiveness of instruction DIBELS Next tools will be used as the primary Measures for literacy

Intervention Evidence based instruction strategies used to enhance classroom instruction Matched to a student’s specific instructional need An Intervention Plan can contain multiple interventions Interventions found in Exceed have been vetted by MPS The details of the Intervention (duration, frequency, start/end dates, etc.) should be very specific
