2. The city is located in Munster, in the county of Cork. The city is situated along the River Lee. The city is one of the most important harbour in Ireland.

3. Cork has a population of 120000 inhabitants in the city and 380000 inhabitants around the city. It is the 2nd biggest city in Ireland. Its name comes from corcach, which means marshy place in English.

4. St Patrick’s street St Patrick’s street is the main shopping street in Cork. It meets River Lee at the St Patrick’s bridge.

5. The English Market The English Market has entrances on Princes Street, Patrick Street and the Grand Parade. It is a covered market for fish (smoked salmon !), fruit, meat and vegetable. The origins of the market can be traced in 1610, but the present building dates from 1786.
