WHAT IS AN E-BOMB? E-BOMB overwhelms electrical circuitry with intense electromagnetic field. ELECTROMAGNETIC PULSE THEORY: EMPs produced by nuclear weapons with ever diminishing intensity, have changing magnetic fields which couple with electrical circuitry to produce damge currents/voltage surges.
3
FLUX COMPRESSION GENERATOR(FCG) is the most important and the fundamental method used for such arsenal.
4
Consists : Metal cylinder (called the armature), surrounded by a coil of wire (the stator winding). The armature cylinder is filled with high explosive, and a sturdy jacket surrounds the entire device.
5
The stator winding and the armature cylinder are separated by empty space or insulator. The bomb also has a power source, such as a bank of capacitors, which is connected to the stator.
6
Events series when the bomb goes off: Capacitors connects to Stator sets electrical current through wires Generates Intense Magnetic Field. Fuze mechanism ignites the explosive material Explosion travels as wave through the middle of the armature cylinder.
7
Explosion passes through cylinder Cylinder comes in contact with stator winding creates a short circuit cuts the stator off from its power supply. Moving short circuit compresses Magnetic Field generates Intense Electromagnetic burst.
8
DAMAGE ON ELECTRONICS EQUIPMENTS Intense electromagnetic pulse corrupts computer data powerful bursts would completely fry electric and electronic equipment. E-BOMB COULD NEUTRALIZE Vehicle control systems, targeting systems, communications systems, navigation systems, long and short-range sensor systems EFFECT ON HUMAN BEINGS Use Of Pacemaker Or Any Other Electronic Implant. COLLATERAL DAMAGES

FARADAY CAGE E-BUNKERS SITE HARDENING USE OF MOTOR POWER ISOLATORS FOR MAINS POWER DISTRIBUTION DESTROY THE DELIEVERY VEHICLE OR LAUNCH PLATFORM ELECTROMAGNETICALLY HARDEN IMPORTANT ASSETS HIDE IMPORTANT ASSETS
10
Vulnerability Reduction (Hardening): Convert computer rooms in to Faraday cages Use optical fibres for data Isolate power feeds with transient arrestors Use non-electrical power feed schemes Use electromagnetic “ air lock ” Shielding must be comprehensive

E-bomb is a WEMD High payoff in using E-bombs against fundamental infrastructure, resulting in substantial paralysis E-bombs will become a decisive capability in Strategic Warfare and Electronic Combat E-bombs are a non-lethal weapon The critical issues for the next decade are the deployment of E-bombs and the hardening of fundamental infrastructure
