Using Lync Become familiar with the Lync interface Creating an invitation to a meeting (via Outlook) Muting microphone Sharing video (only when necessary) Sharing Desktop Whiteboard Polls

Before You Present Do a test connection before your presentation Have a colleague connect with you and practice your presentation, including: showing any whiteboards, presentations, polls, or sharing your desktop

As a Presenter Create your link to your Link presentation in Outlook calendar (can do this with the Outlook Web App 2013 or desktop client) Send the link to participants If working with someone else as co-presenters, test your audio and create polls before others connect Join Lync Meetinghttps://meet.lync.com/coemailmurraystate- coemail/poakley/FTDQN7YZhttps://meet.lync.com/coemailmurraystate- coemail/poakley/FTDQN7YZ

Using Polls If you want to create polls before you start, connect early Create and name them for easy access Will disappear if you leave the connection Know how to share them and show results

As a Participant To access training, click on the link you received Once you are admitted, be sure your microphone is muted in Lync Do not start your video unless you are asked to do so by the presenter Ask questions in the chat window

Using the Microphone If you are asked by the presenter to speak, unmute your microphone, but remember to mute it when you are finished Be sure you are in a quiet space if you are going to be talking Background noises are distracting to other participants

Using Lync in the Classroom Foreign language classes Comparing geographical regions of Kentucky City life vs. country life (i.e., City Mouse & Country Mouse) Comparing weather through the year Authoring books together (My Trip to ____________) Comparing Civil War battles in different areas
