Lecture-1 & 2 Topics: Psychology: An introduction Definition of Psychology; Psychology as a science; Approaches of the study of Psychology: Neuro- biological approach, Behavioral approach, Cognitive approach, Humanistic approach, Psychoanalytic approach; Methods of Psychology: Experimental methods, Observational methods, clinical methods, Case study, Survey methods, Test methods.

Lecture -3 & 4 Topic: Biological basis of Behavior Defining Cell, tissue and system of the body; Basic units of the nervous system: Neurons-structure of the neurons, types of the neurons, effectors and connectors, transmission of the neural impulses. Major division of the nervous system: the central nervous system-brain and spinal cord, the peripheral nervous system-somatic and autonomic nervous system.

Lecture-5&6 Topic: Perception Nature of perception; Forms of perception: figure and ground, contour, Gestalt Law; Depth Perception; Monocular Cues of Depth Perception.

Lecture-7&8 Topic: Learning Definition of learning; Classical and operant conditioning; Principles of reinforcements: primary and secondary reinforcement, schedule of reinforcement.

Lecture-10&11 Topic: Memory and Forgetting Definition of reinforcement; Types of memory: sensory memory, short term memory, long term memory; Why we forget: interference, decay, retrieval failure, amnesia; Ways to improve memory

Lecture-12&13 Topic: Motivation Definition of motivation; Motivation cycle; Types of motivation, Motivation and behavior; Theories of motivation

Lecture-14&15 Topic: Frustration, Conflict and Stress Sources of frustration; Reactions to frustration; Types of conflicts, conflict resolution; Defining stress; physiological effects of stress; stress managements.

Lecture- 16 & 17 Topic: Personality Definition of personality; Theories of personality: trait theories, psychodynamic theories, humanistic theories, social learning theories.

Lecture – 18 & 19 Topic: Thinking Nature of Thinking; Cognitive functions of thinking: concepts, problem solving, reasoning & decision making.

Lecture – 20 & 21 Topic: Attitudes Definition and nature of Attitude; Measurement of attitudes; Factors in attitude change; Attitude and behavior.
