6. LGBT community There are LGBT people in every community in Scotland. They can be in any school, any family and any group.

7. LGBT History Month Every February, Scotland holds LGBT History Month. This is like Black History Month in November.

8. LGBT History Month During this month we highlight all the contributions LGBT have made to our society. For Example: Sir Ian McKellan – the actor who plays Gandalf. Alan Turing – inventor who made modern computers possible. He also was part of the team that broke the Enigma Code which helped bring WW2 to an end. Carol Ann Duffy – Poet Laureate – the Queen’s official poet! Tom Daley – Olympic medal winning diver

9. LGBT History Month But what can we do in school? “That’s so sporty!” “That’s so Scottish!” Imagine using those phrases as insults…

10. LGBT History Month To show that our school supports LGBT people on Friday 26 th – the last school day of LGBT History Month we’d like you to come to school, not in uniform, but wearing something purple!
