The Global CN Partnership Agreement Accepted proposal at the Clossing Session of Global CN2000., Nov 4, 2000

What the Global CN Partnership can be? n A new experimental framework to be invented together (instead of copying traditional formulas). A partnership open to CN organizations and individuals and also academic, public and private organizations Sharing common values and aims also open to change.

Initial values and aims... n Promoting innovative social change through the effective use of ICTs n Promoting a bottom-up approach to our joint activities and events n Getting community networkers into policy debates and dialogues at the local, national, and global levels

Initial values and aims... n Shifting the main focus in ICT development from people as “consumers” to citizens, and active participants in the knowledge society n Addressing the real issues behind achieving equitable and effective access to the Internet, its tools and benefits

Initial values and aims... n Promoting a multilingual and multicultural Internet n Develop new models of sustainable local development using ICTs to empower people n Helping to design a partnership culture among community networkers, private enterprise, public sector, universities and relevant agencies

Exploring new funding models n Current models of funding,charity based or welfare state based are insuficient n A social entrepreneurship partnership like the CNs needs a different kind of funding. n Exploring the “social venture capital” model. How about a Global CN Fund?
