What in the world is that? Anagrams are words or phrases that are formed by rearranging the letters of another word or phrase.
3
*Just So You Know ;) Some special anagrams don't even require rearrangement! You just add/remove spaces and punctuation! For instance, have you ever noticed that The IRS always thinks that your stuff is theirs?
4
Roots! The word ANAGRAM comes from the roots ANA, meaning new, back, or again, and GRAM, meaning letter(s). P.S. Maybe these 2 roots should be on our quiz on Friday!
5
Anti-grams Anti-grams are anagrams whose interpretation are considered ironic, or opposite of the subject. How would one describe FUNERAL? I don't think the right answer would be REAL FUN.
6
One word Anagrams A single word is anagrammed into another single word. A mother's first thought when a teenager brings up CARS is usually SCAR.
7
More Special Anagrams! Some anagrams are created perfectly by reversing the order of the letters. Mommy, I really SAW him! He WAS right here!
8
Why would they be in literature? You might be saying, "Sure they're fun in games like scrabble, but how and why would they be used in literature?" When a poet uses anagrams, it is genius and spontaneous! Also, anagrams often carry hidden messages. Clint Eastwood-> Old West Action. They are really funny and creative.
9
Activity Whoever can find the most anagrams in the lyrics of Anagrams by Rush at the end of class gets candy. :)

The End Thank you Amazing Anagrams- BOAT #4; Internet Anagram Server; Anagram Genius; Dictionary Reference; and Mrs. Anderson's 6th period class! I appreciate all of the help!
