If I didn't do my homework, (I did my homework.) I would need an umbrella. (I don't need an umbrella.) I couldn't learn anything. (I can learn.) If Marie were hungry, (Marie is not hungry.) If I weren't sleepy, (I am sleepy.) she would eat dinner. (She will not eat dinner.) I wouldn't look so tired. (I look tired.)
