Rules Artwork must be completed at school Original artwork – Do not borrow ideas = Plagiarism Do NOT sign artwork on front Color/collage ok 12” x 18” No more than 8 words, written large and clear enough to be read at a distance May use typography or stencils for letters Color & strong thick lines encouraged

Poster Design What is your message? What image can you use to “say” it? How can you use color? What word or words will “say” your message? Does your poster design get the message across?

Poster Design Tips: 1. Attention getter 2. Keep it simple 3. Use 1-2 fonts 4. Plan: Read information from top to bottom 5. Color: Dark letters, pale background

Design Thinking What is it? “Visual thinking is transforming verbal information into visual-graphic representation” “Words divide, pictures unite” “Visual thinking helps to simplify” “Visuals-drawings are international, everybody understands them while words change based on the different languages…”

Intelligence is: The ability to create effective a product or offer a service that is valued in a culture A set of skills that make it possible for a person to solve problems in life. The potential for finding or creating solutions for problems, which involves gathering new knowledge.
