Overview Objective: Create a virtual reality roleplaying game using the Oculus Rift and the Virtuix Omni – Oculus Rift DK2: New version of the most popular VR headset – Virtuix Omni: Omnidirectional VR treadmill – Game Objective: Acquire items and gear, level up, and kill the bad guys Design Goals – Modularity: Each system designed to be self-supported, allowing for easier modification – Agile Development: Designed using a modified Scrum process – Performance: Attempt to keep FPS > 30 to provide smooth graphics

Major Systems Movement: Head movement from Rift, body movement through keyboard/mouse/Omni Combat: Player and enemies can damage one another, dynamic enemy creation, 3 player classes Items: Player can pick up and use items, holds items in inventory Experience/Leveling: Completing objectives and killing enemies give player experience. Leveling up makes player stronger Objectives: Location-based, enemy-based, and stat- based quests implemented

Future Development Omni Integration – Manufacturing delays – supposedly being delivered in July Additional Content – Different terrains (currently only demo area and forest) – More types of quests – More enemies, items, NPCs, etc Reworked systems – Item & Objectives systems need fleshed out – Enemy management is overcomplicated and messy – Character classes need more diversity
