She plays guitar, piano, banjo, ukulele and vocals.

An engineer taught Taylor her first three chords on guitar, and inspired her first song, Lucky You. Her first high school boyfriend, who left her for her friend, inspired the bitter son Picture to Burn. She used to live on a Christmas tree farm when she was young. In 2013, she appeared on an episode of New Girl. Her favourite desert is cheesecake.
