2 Introducing YWCA NSW YWCA NSW: 135 years young! 4 Hubs; 12 service locations; 50+ programs; 120 program staff; 220 total organisation; and Revenue from Government; Corporates; Fundraising & Donations; two hotels

3 Competitive Nature of Funding Both Federal, State and Local Government tenders are highly competitive. Funding from Corporate Organisations, Trusts and Foundations is also very competitive Need to differentiate your product and clearly articulate your claim, your benefit and the evidence The evidence are the outcomes achieved through Results Based Accountability

4 YWCA NSW Population Outcomes 1.All children are ready for school (0-5 years) 2.All children meet minimum literacy and numeracy standards (6-12 years) 3.All parents and carers have the skills and qualifications to lead active and productive lives – stronger families 4.All young people stay engaged in education and learning

5 YWCA NSW Population Outcomes 5.All adult workers have the skills and qualifications needed to enjoy active and productive working lives - encourage and support increased workforce participation 6.All women and children are safe from abuse and harm 7.Communities are safer (ie reduction of criminal activity) 8.All women lead healthier lives 9.All women have access to leadership opportunities

6 YWCA NSW Program Performance Outcomes Each Program has their own set of performance outcomes and indicators for each client group they work with. Link into Government and other Funder KPIs as well

7 Level 3: Program Performance Outcomes - Examples ProgramOutcomes Homelessness support Clients remain in their current accommodation Clients have an increased knowledge of support services and resources in the local area Clients submit applications to Housing NSW/community housing (where appropriate) Parenting program/ child literacy Participants increase access to learning resources Parents increase skills in parenting practice that supports early literacy Improved child/parent connectedness through literacy Domestic Violence Support programs Women are more informed about choices available to make them safe Community is more informed about DV/FV & how to refer clients Reduced risk of harm from DV for women and children

21 The Importance of Demonstrating Funding Outcomes Use the Program Performance Outcomes to continuously improve our service. Turn the Curve Use the outcomes to report back to Funders via quarterly, yearly or end of program reports Use the outcomes to outline the evidence that YWCA NSW is making a difference in the community. This is then used in tender applications, and to justify internal funding of programs
