Resumes and Applications Colleges and employers are increasingly looking for well-rounded students and employees What activities will make you a more desirable applicant Some extra-curricular activities that colleges and employers look for – Volunteer experiences – High school athletic teams, clubs, student council, committees – Work experiences – Artistic endeavors: Band, choir, art shows, photography – Technical skills

College Admissions Officer You are a new college admissions officer Decide on what type of college – 2 or 4-year, public, private, technical, community, etc. Assign weighted percentages to these factors: – GPA – ACT Score – Volunteer Experience – High School Extracurricular Activities – Work Experience – Essay (Note: many colleges do not require essays) – Letters of Recommendation (many colleges don’t require)
