4 Teen Pregnancy in US United States has the highest rate of teen pregnancy than any other industrialized country in the world. The United States has remained at the top for teen births in the past 10 years

5 Central Falls Population: 19,379 Approx. 5,639 of the population are under 18 years of age (29%) Highest teen birth rate in Rhode Island For every 1,000 teen girls approx. 17 teens are pregnant

6 Why is Teen Pregnancy so high? Improper or no education on condom use Limited access to contraception for adolescents Contraception expensive! Peer Pressure Media Poor support system leads to repeat pregnancy
