Elderhostel/Road Scholar and Lifelong Learning Programs: 2013 22 Elderhostel programs, with 551 older learners Elderhostel sites: Richmond Natural Bridge Staunton Harrisonburg $425,000 into Virginia’s economy from older learners (from tuition outlays and discretionary spending) Outlays: $181,000 for lodging/meals, $26,000 local staffing, $29,000 for tickets/admissions, $17,000 for transport, etc

Elderhostel/Road Scholar and Lifelong Learning Programs: 2013 Lifelong Learning Institute (LLI), Midlothian Co-sponsored with Chesterfield County 507 courses across 3 terms 12,070 registrations, across 28 zip codes 1,747 mid-life and older learners 284 instructors 2,298 mid-life and older learners overall in Elderhostel/Road Scholar and LLI programs
