2
What is an Islamic Fundamentalist It is an international movement by Sunni Islamists founded in 1988. Known for their suicide attacks and simultaneous bombings.
3
Who are Islamic Fundamentalists A fundamentalist is a political individual in search of a more original Islam. For fundamentalists the law is the most essential component of Islam.
4
Where are Islamic Fundamentalists Islamic fundamentalism is diverse political and social movements in Muslim countries of North Africa, the Middle east, and South Asia. Their goal is to create more Islamically oriented states and societies based on the principle and values of Islam They basically want to spread there religion and beliefs to everyone.
5
How Do Islamic Fundamentalists Effect the rest of the World Islamic fundamentalism is a total belief system that is willing to use any means to accomplish its goal; it is similar to Communism. They both try to radically remake society. Fundamentalists are willing to use any means, terrorists tactics included, to accomplish their goals. They are considered more offensive instead of defensive.
6
When Were they Started Its beginnings date back to 1979 and the Iranian Revolution, when the Ayatollah Khomeini overthrew the Shah and established an Islamic republic in Iran. Muhammad ibn Abdallah is the founder of Islam. He was a member of a powerful Meccan tribe called the Quarysh. He was also a prosperous trader. The Sunnis founded Islam Fundamentalism in 1988 from this point.
7
When continued.. Islamic Fundamentalism became more known to the United States in 2001 They are to be blamed for the terrorist attacks on September 11 th. It is believed that Usama Bin Laden was their current leader at the time. –He therefore called for the attacks This is when the United States became in a War On Terror. This could otherwise be stated as War On Islamic Fundamentalists.
8
What they want Islamic Fundamentalists want to establish governments and legal systems based on religious law. They use the shard' ah, which is Islamic law derived from the study of the Koran. They also want to bring back traditional practices like banning alcohol and having women cover their faces. Its purpose is to challenge the predominance of modern, Western civilization. They See Western influences as evil and corrupting.
9
What Islamic Fundamentalists Think Islamic fundamentalism needs moral justification to destroy an entire culture. Not only do fundamentalists reject toleration of other religious faiths, but they are intolerant of other Muslims who differ from there narrow tradition. This happens to be their justification, they do not like others who differ from their beliefs and traditions.
10
Why they do what they do. They are the world’s leading anti-American Ideology. They rank the U.S. as the number one enemy. They think Christian and Jewish alliances are conspiring to destroy Islam. So they are out to make sure this doesn’t happen They will use any force and any means to ensure the job is done –Suicide bombing, suicide attacks, etc..
