Operating System Requirements To share media with your Xbox 360 simply connect your Xbox 360 console to a PC running Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) or later. It doesn't have to be a Windows Media Center-based PC.
7
Setting up Streaming on Xbox First off you must Gather Setup Key from Xbox 360 Press the Media Center Start button on the remote or go to My Xbox, then select Windows Media Center. Advance through the on-screen instructions to obtain the 8-digit Media Center Setup Key. Write this key down.
8
Setup streaming on Media Center Add Extender (Xbox 360) At the Windows Vista or Windows 7 Media Center PC, launch Windows Media Center. Select Start, Windows Media Center. Select Tasks, Add Extender. When prompted, provide the 8-digit setup key you received from your Xbox 360. Complete the Extender setup.

Networking and Connectivity You can connect by using Xbox 360 Wireless Adapter or Ethernet cabling. You can connect the Xbox 360 console to an 802.11a, 802.11g or 802.11n wireless network. When using Windows Media Center, 802.11a and 802.11n wireless networks provide optimal bandwidth. 802.11a and 802.11n networks are also less likely to experience interference, providing better video quality.
10
Improve Network Performance The Network Performance Tuner evaluates home network performance. The Tuner checks the bandwidth between the Xbox 360 console and a Windows Media Center-based PC, and makes suggestions that could increase the bandwidth. 1. On the Windows 7 based Media Center PC, start Media Center. 2. Select Task > Settings > Extender. 3. Select the Extender that you wish to run the Network Performance Tuner against. 4. Select Tune Network.

HDTV Streaming Home Networks and High-Definition TV (HDTV) Windows Media Center supports standard and high-definition video output on to the Xbox 360 console. Network requirements for viewing high-definition video are greater than those required for standard video. For the best high-definition video experience, connect the console to the network by using a wired (Ethernet) connection. Or alternatively you can use 802.11n wireless standard.
