Oceans There are 5 oceans. They are pacific (covers 1/3 of Earth), Indian, Atlantic, Artic and Southern. Oceans separate the 7 continents. Oceans move in a certain way. A current is the flow of the ocean in a specific direction Tides are the high and low waves in the oceans. When the tides are high, lands could get covered in water. 71 Percent of the Earth is covered in Oceans!

Bays Bays are found along the Atlantic and Gulf coasts. Bays provide harbors where ships can dock. An example includes the Chesapeake bay between Maryland and Virginia. The largest bays along the Gulf Coast are Galveston Bay in Texas and Tampa Bay in Florida.
5
Gulfs Gulfs are the largest inlets. The largest Gulf bordering the US is the Gulf of Mexico. Another example is a Gulf of Alaska
6
Inlets! It is an area of land extending into land from a larger body of water.
7
Lakes North America has the most lakes. The largest lakes in North America are the Great Lakes which are along the border of US and Canada. The Great Lakes are Superior, Michigan, Huron, Erie, and Ontario. One fifth of all fresh water lakes are found in Great Lakes. Lake Superior is the largest freshwater lake. Not all lakes contain fresh water. The Great Salt Lake in UTAH is as salty as an ocean or sea.

Rivers Rives are bodies of fresh moving water! They begin at source and end at mouth. The river empties water into another ocean or water body. Rivers carry water away from land.
