In a survey, one-in-four people saying that eating chocolate is improving their mood. As chocolate contains fat, which in itself provides a feeling of satisfaction since it answers the urge for calories. However, one-in-five people saying the opposite.

Food items likely to be affecting somebody’s mood: Chocolate, Sugar, Wheat products, Eggs, Milk, Artificial flavourings and preservatives. Worthy to mention that neurotransmitters in the brain affect how people think, and behave, all of which are influenced by what is eaten. Excessive, improper diet aggravating symptoms or illnesses like autism, schizophrenia, some cancers, strokes, diabetes, panic attack, which can be linked to what you eat.

Other foods items or drinks to be avoided or cut down 1- Try having tea with honey instead of sugar (sugar forcing the body to deplete its various stores of vitamins, fibers and minerals. 2- Cola containing ten teaspoons of sugar which may be leading to obesity, diabetes (diabetes leading to body failure to produce insulin). 3- Try drinking a glass of water, or eight cups of water every twenty minutes. 4- Try cutting down on “food stressors” having a negative effect on your mood (i.e. Chocolate, sugar, caffeine, alcohol). (alcohol-related drinking also contributing to deaths, murders, car wrecks, and falling behind your studies).

5- Hydro treated food and tropical fats like (coconut and palm oil and animal fats to be cut down on). 6- Sodium, found in salt tables, to be avoided as well as prepared food.

Out of sight, out of mind Tempting food like candy, cookies, snacks, ice-creams to be kept on a high shelf or at the back of a freezer, why??? When vegging out in front of the TV, put the amount you want to eat into a bowl or plate instead of eating straight from the packages.

Positive Food Items: Fruit, ¾ cup fruit juice; ¼ dried fruit. Vegetables. Tuna, sardines, Salmon. Avocadoes. Pumpkin seeds. Sunflower seeds. Banana on oatcake biscuit base, chopped walnuts.
