1. CCHE690 MEDIA REVIEW Having taught for Yavapai college in Prescott for many years after having taught at Universal Technical Institute in Phoenix. I am very interested in the inequalities that exist in faculty workload, pay, and release time among different schools including public.2 and 4 year as well as privates. There are major differences in these areas not only between schools in different categories i.e... 2 vs. 4 year but also between say two year public schools. My thoughts are if faculty are doing the same job shouldn’t the areas of workload, release time and especially pay be somewhat uniform?

Load hours more defined. These colleges are more controlling on faculty time spent on task. 4 YEAR COLLEGES 1. Educational qualifications very stringent even for non-tenured track. Tenure track usually requires prior evidence of university teaching. 2. Job descriptions harder to find. Usually defined simply as teaching. Very free academically. 3. Load hours not defined very well other than number of classes required to teach per semester. Load release time for research
