4 COACH HELM Graduated Moore High School & University of Central Oklahoma 20 years teaching & 12 years coaching experience 27 years of running experience 9 marathons, 2x Boston Wife Yaneth, Daughter Ximena, Victoria, & Lab Sugar

6 PHILOSOPHY WE STRIVE TO DO OUR BEST FOR THE TEAM WE LEARN THAT ADVERSITY IS OPPORTUNITY WE LEARN THAT CROSS COUNTRY IS LIFE WE DEVELOP A STRONG MIND SET FOR LIFE WE HAVE THE TOOLS TO MOVE FORWARD BE PUNCTUAL, GIVE 100%, BE A GOOD TEAMMATE!

7 CROSS COUNTRY PHILOSOPHY We will be successful in track because we care about our teammates. We will be successful in track because we share strong relationships. We will be successful in track because we have a growth mindset. We will be successful in track because we share the same goals. We will be successful in track because we give our effort for the team! Team Goal Boys will qualify for Regional and State. Girls will finish in the top 3 at State. JV will finish in the top 3 at District

8 Roles/Responsibilities  I will be punctual.  I will wear appropriate attire.  I will set a good example for others to follow.  I will not make excuses. I will just show up.  I will know my assignment.  I will cheer for others.  I will be a good teammate! Expectations  I will be on time.  I will show up to practice.  I will give my best effort.  I will stay positive.  I will be a good teammate!

9 POLICIES & PROCEDURES Unexcused Absence Policy 1st unexcused absence – make up workout 2nd unexcused absence – no meet participation & parent contact 3rd unexcused absence – removal from team Academic Plan You must be passing all classes with at least a 70% Student placed in ISS may be expelled from the team Parent/Teacher conference for poor academics/behavior Tutorials & Appointments M/W/F – 9 a.m. Study Hall in cafeteria T/Th – 8:45 a.m. Study Hall in cafeteria Schedule Tutorials/Appointments in study hall or p.m.
