How to prepare for law school Choose courses that are: rigorous writing-intensive interesting Focus on your grades immediately Your GPA is more important than your activities Carefully weigh working and extra-curricular activities

If you do well (3.7 gpa or higher)… Dean’s list Early registration Freshman Tea More competitive for internships Eligible for new scholarships May be selected for prestigious campus service

If you do poorly… Spend next three years trying to recover Probation (under 2.0) Suspension (under 2.0 while on probation) Can’t participate in activities

Options to consider: Honors College programs Workshops on preparing for professional school Independent research with a faculty member Volunteering at a law firm or for the government Work in a law-related field
