One of the Calamites That Fell Upon David God commanded that one of David’s best friends take David’s wives and sleep with them during the day, and that David had to watch it all happen.

Saul and Jonathan David described Saul and Jonathan in his lament after their death as loyal, mighty, loved, gracious, swift, and strong. This was surprising because Saul tried to kill David earlier on, but David still called him all of those good things and didn’t include one bad thing at all.

The Promise The promise of 2 Samuel 7:15 is so important because God punished Saul for other’s sin and “stopped loving Saul”, and Saul lost his kingdom so God’s promising not to do that to Saul again.

House The two ways the term “house” is used in 2 Samuel is to build a house for God’s name, and to dwell in.
