6. Pitfalls to Avoid Questions that imply or assume an answer. Avoid, “Of course you all agree, don’t you?” and “What are the three great truths in this passage?” The later limits the answer and implies a fourth truth must be wrong. Questions with a “yes” or “no” answer. These questions leave no room for discussion. Use them sparingly. Combining two questions in one. Ask only one question at a time.

7. Pitfalls to Avoid Questions with a “right” answer. Preferably choose open- ended questions where there are several possible answers. Instead of asking “Where are the ten commandments found in the Bible?” save the time by telling them. Use questions designed to stimulate biblical wisdom about life. Questions too long to be remembered. Shorten the question. Perhaps there is more than one issue.
