1 Legal Basics and Ethics – Goals – Students will: 1. Learn the expectations of the instructor. 2. Learn grade percentages. 3. Cover the outline of the course. 4. Engage in an ice breaker exercise. 5. Highlight legal vocabulary to know.

2 1. No cell phone zone. Phone will be taken and given to Mr. Tustin with DR. 2. No I-pod zone. Headphones or ear buds will not be used at any time and usage will be handled as a disciplinary matter. 3. Laptops will only be used for research and note-taking. 4. All tardies will be counted and no amount of begging will help!

3  Exams/Quizzes40%  EOC10%  Homework25%  Projects25% 1. Exams will be subjective and objective 2. Bell ringers, which begin most classes, will be due twice a semester and will count as a project grade. Bell ringers, and all papers, will be typed, double spaced, and follow APA guidelines.

5  You are responsible for knowing the vocabulary words I give you to learn. ◦ You will be tested on the words. ◦ There will be approximately 4 quizzes in the first quarter and then the words will also be on the EOC. ◦ You are expected to use the vocabulary during the course of the class in the proper manner. ◦ FIRST VOCABULARY QUIZ – FRIDAY, AUGUST 28, 2015 – Letters A – C.
